Scholarship Opportunity

HEAN (Hispanic Educators Association of NV) in conjunction with Ronald McDonald Charities offer a $1,000 scholarship to Hispanic/Latino students who are pursuing education as their college major.


Students must apply through the Ronald McDonald Charities link at and complete an additional essay, 500 words or less:  "Why do you want to become a teacher? What will you, as a Hispanic teacher offer your students that others cannot?"


Other criteria:  Have at least one parent of Hispanic/Latino heritage, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and declare a major in education.  The deadline is January 19, 2019.

FAFSA Workshop, Wednesday December 5th at 12:30pm


Seniors, this is a reminder that there will a FAFSA workshop presented by The College Of Southern Nevada on Wednesday December 5th at 12:30 pm in the computer lab. It Does Not matter what College/University you are going to because 99.9% of them Require you fill out the FAFSA in order to receive scholarships or free tuition. the items you need to bring are listed below. if you have any questions or concerns please see Ms. Mendez in the computer lab. hope to see you all there!

W-2 Forms from All Jobs in 2017

Tax Forms 1099-MISC/1099-SSA

2017 Federal Tax Returns

Child Support Documents (paid or received)

2017 Food Stamp Award Letter

Untaxed Pensions/Retirement Plans

FAFSA ID (if you already have one

Nevada Promise New Applicants:
  • Apply for the Nevada Promise Scholarship on or before October 31st
  • Complete 2 online Nevada Promise Trainings
    • Online Training #1 must be complete on or before December 31st
    • Online Training #2 must be complete on or before April 30th
  • Complete 1 guided Mentor Activity on or before April 30th
  • Apply for the FAFSA on or before April 1st
  • Apply to CSN on or before April 30th
  • Complete and submit 20 hours of Community Service on or before April 30th
  • Take Placement exams and enrollment process for fall 2019

Seniors: It's time to think about financial aid

  • Day school and online seniors: Commit 90 minutes on one of your days off to complete the FAFSA.  Visit to start your application and see how much assistance you can get for college.
